My Little Sister
Two years ago I got a little sister through the Big Brothers Big Sister's program. We have become very close over the two years of our match together. However, since I am graduating this year our match will be over. I really have enjoyed getting to know this young girl and watched her grow over the years. She is a really athletic young girl and likes to talk about anything and everything. Today is our last meeting together. It will be a little bitter sweet but I know we both have bright futures.

Don't Blink
I have never really payed much attention to people when they talk about how time passes so quickly. Since the beginning of my freshman year all I could ever think about is how I wanted time to fly by so I could graduate and be out in the real world, on my own. Well, I am a senior now, and graduation is 29 days away and quite frankly I want everything to SLOW way down! The realization that I will be leaving my family, my home, and my friends has hit me pretty hard. They forget to tell you at a young age that you need to slow down and enjoy the little things in life, because one day your 8 years old and then you blink and your 18 and graduating high school.. Don't get me wrong I am super excited about my future and to experience new things in life, but I wish it wasn't all happening so quickly. However, the future is coming and I better be ready for it because if I have learned anything at all throughout my 18 years, it is that time goes by so quickly and I want to enjoy every bit of the next chapter of my life!
The Aftermath
I can gladly say that all the stitches are out of my leg and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel! After my infection and several other issues that came along with tripping and getting a rock stuck in my leg, I can finally say I am pretty sure all the junk is behind me! I can honestly say that I will no longer run in the dark, and I will avoid rocks at all cost. Now, the only thing I have to worry about is how big the scar will be. I am definitely going to have to whip out the mederma scar cream. I am very very happy that everything is looking good and hopefully I won't be back in the emergency room any time soon!
Next Stop... State
As you all know, the livestock judging team competed at the District contest, and just as expected.. we won! We had a clean sweep, winning cattle, sheep, swine, and oral reasons. Last year my cousin, Travis, won the contest individually and I took second high individual. Strangely enough, the same exact thing happened this year, he won first and I took second. Now we are next judging competition will be the State 4-H contest in College Station, Texas. We will be gearing up and getting ready for the contest with hopes of making it to a National Contest. I am really excited to see what the future holds for our team down the road!
