Spring has Sprung
Spring is officially here! Along with spring comes the huge list of all the activities that I do. However, I can't complain too much because they are all things that I love doing! District tennis and livestock judging are both coming up soon, and my EIGHTEENTH BIRTHDAY! As you can tell I am quite thrilled that my birthday is so soon, I'm sure being 18 won't feel any different than any other birthday, but I will be a legal adult and that's very exciting! However, being a legal adult comes with a lot of different responsibilities that I don't exactly want.. Anyways, in the steer world my brother and sister are getting locked and loaded for the upcoming show season! One of my most favorite things to do is halter break new baby steers! Not only are they super cute and hairy, but also very dear to my heart. This year, since I am finished with my show career, my dad let me pick out a steer for my siblings. I picked an all white, hairy little booger and I must say I think I did an excellent job. Now, I may not be saying that in a couple months when it comes show time, but as of now I am very content with my decision. I guess I should get ready for the cycle of rinsing and blowing to keep his hair clean and super white! I will get to see the other side of showing, and get to experience what my dad has for ten years... trying to pick out the best steer as possible and hoping they turn out good. Although that doesn't always happen, but if the steer I picked out does end up doing well, you can bet that I will be boasting and bragging about it to my dad. Hopefully I will get to pick out many more in the future. As for college, I am still undecided.. surprising huh?

The Final Veridct
As you all know, I am now done with my stock show career :( My brother (Tyler), cousin (Travis), and myself took three steers to Houston and came home with none! We put all three steers in the sale! Placing 9th in the middle weight Limousin breed, 8th in the heavy weight Shorthorn breed, and 7th in the heavy weight Simmental breed. We branded all three steers, "Heater", "Turbo", and "Walker"! The good luck transferred over to the pig barn as well. My pig, "Phantom", got pulled but did not get placed, however that pig did have a fun time! While all the other pigs were driving around the ring perfectly mine decided to run around the ring as fast as he could, needless to say it was quite embarrassing, but I can't complain too much! The trip was fantastic! The family had a great time in Houston and I can definitely say I went out on a good note! My dad already has baby calves in the barn for next year, and I will be for sure out be out in the show barn helping every chance I get! I am very very excited to see what the future holds for my family in the show business and I will be there every step of the way helping! Showing cattle will always hold a special place in my heart and I can look back on my show career with nothing, but smiles and good memories! As one door closes, many more have opened. Judging season is kicking into high gear and all the spring contests are starting up! It's going to be a great judging season for the Hansford County Judging Team!

SPRING BREAK
Yes! Spring break is FINALLY here! A week away from school is exactly what I needed, and what makes it even better is that when I come back to school there will only be two months left until graduation! It's all flying by so quickly, which is a little bitter sweet, but all-in-all I am ready for a change! For spring break this year I will be going to Houston to show my animals. It seems as if ten years came and went with the blink of an eye! It's very hard to believe that this is my last ever stock show.. It's a sad time for me, but at the same time I am ready to experience the next chapter in my life. Now, what that will be I am not too sure, but you better believe that I am ready for it! Another thing that I am overjoyed about is the weather! Finally, the snow has melted and believe it or not, but I was able to wear shorts yesterday because it was such a beautiful day! Summer is my absolute favorite time of the year so, getting to soak up some of this warm weather is really quite exciting! As my show career comes to an end my judging and tennis activities are coming to a beginning! Between tennis and judging I am super busy, but I can't imagine my life any other way!

White Out!
So, at the beginning of this week there had been many different assumptions about what the weather would do. Well quite frankly, the weather went NUTS. We had a white out blizzard, with a foot and a half of snow. On the bright side of things.. School got cancelled for TWO DAYS! It was amazing, awesome, fantastic, and wonderful!
